The project aimed to replace an ageing structure with a modern, sustainable facility that would enhance the visitor experience while blending seamlessly into the picturesque coastal setting. The new hut serves as the central hub for mini golf operations, providing ticketing, equipment storage, and staff facilities.
Situated just above the seafront, the construction site presented unique challenges, including limited access and the need to navigate multiple public footpaths. We meticulously planned the logistics to ensure minimal disruption to the surrounding area and to keep the mini golf course operational throughout the build. Our team employed careful scheduling and site management to maintain safety and accessibility for both workers and the public.

In line with Lyme Regis Town Council’s commitment to sustainability, the new hut was equipped with a solar photovoltaic (PV) system. The installation comprises nine JA Solar modules with a combined output of 3.65 kWp, connected to a Rayleigh Instruments inverter. This system is projected to generate approximately 3,738 kWh annually, covering around 39.7% of the hut’s energy needs and reducing CO₂ emissions by an estimated 1,757 kg per year. The integration of renewable energy not only lowers operational costs but also aligns with broader environmental goals.
The completed amenities hut now offers improved functionality and aesthetics, enhancing the overall appeal of the mini golf attraction. Its thoughtful design and sustainable features contribute to the long-term viability of the facility, ensuring that both locals and visitors can continue to enjoy this cherished seaside activity for years to come.
